A teacher with a phobia over rabbits is suing a 14-year-old pupil for compensation after she drew a bunny on the blackboard.
The teacher, from Vechta, Germany, says she was traumatised by the drawing, and claims the girl knew it would terrify her. She had transferred to the school where a pupil from her former school had just become a pupil and told her new friends about the teacher's fear of rabbits. "We did it for fun and out of curiosity", one of the girls told the court, adding, "We wanted to see if she would really freak out." A lost sailor has had to be rescued after running out of fuel circling a small island when he thought he was sailing around the UK coast. The Sheerness lifeboat and the Thames Coastguard assisted the man who ran aground off the Elmley Marshes on the Isle of Sheppey on 19 April. With only a road map for directions, he set off on the river Medway, from Gillingham, and headed for Southampton. But the RNLI said the man had "ended up travelling round the Isle of Sheppey". A spokesman said: "This guy had run aground after running out of fuel. He was attempting to travel around the UK from Medway to Southampton and somehow lost his bearings and ended up travelling around the Isle of Sheppey. Bernard Levine, a retired veterinarian from Toms River, New Jersey, helped capture the goose, perform life-saving surgery and then transport it to the state's largest bird rehabilitation facility. "This is a smart goose," said Dr Levine, 82. "He happened to come into the yard of a veterinarian that could take care of him." After it recovered at The Raptor Trust, the goose was released last week into a stream in a wooded area on the trust's property. Elephant provides breakdown assistance to zoo keeper
An elephant put its size to good use when it helped a zoo keeper start his car by giving it a shove. Lawrence Bates was all set to call for assistance when his jeep at West Midland Safari Park broke down, until Five the elephant decided to give him a helping hand. The 18-year-old African Elephant got behind and pushed the car out of trouble and out of the enclosure. Director of Wildlife, Bob Lawrence, said: "The jeep broke down one morning and the lads jumped out to have a look at it, popped the bonnet and had a look at the oil. Zone occidentale de l’OTAN : fermeture du ciel aux avions civils durant les exercices militaires
[Réseau Voltaire] Deux F-18 finlandais auraient été endommagés le jeudi 15 avril 2010 en traversant la zone de dispersion des cendres du volcan Eyjafjöll. Tandis qu’un F-16 belge, participant aux manoeuvres Brilliant Ardent 2010 de l’OTAN aurait été endommagé lundi 19 avril , indique Associated Press.
Alors que le trafic aérien civil a été progressivement interrompu sur la partie européenne de la zone OTAN depuis la soirée du mercredi 14 avril, une soixantaine d’avions de l’Alliance participe à une vaste opération de tests de nouvelles armes tactiques. L’Allemagne, les Etats-Unis, la France, l’Italie, la Pologne, le Royaume-Uni, la Tchéquie et la Turquie sont les principaux Etats impliqués dans l’exercice qui se poursuivra jusqu’au jeudi 22 avril, précise l’US Air Force.
Selon l’Organisation de l’aviation civile internationale (OACI), les cendres volcaniques de l’Eyjafjöll peuvent gravement détériorer les réacteurs des avions.
Le VACC formule ses recommandations notamment au vu des données fournies par les satellites militaires britanniques.
Le secrétaire général de l’Alliance, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, a déclaré : « Je peux vous assurer que le volcan islandais n’a aucun effet sur nos opérations, ni sur la défense territoriale des Etats alliés ». Pourtant les constructeurs soulignent que les réacteurs des avions de chasse aux normes OTAN sont plus fragiles que ceux des avions civils et ne sont pas certifiés contre les cendres volcaniques.
Toutefois les avions sanitaires des forces US en Afghanistan et en Irak, qui font habituellement un pont aérien vers leur hôpital militaire à Stutgart (Allemagne) ont été déroutés vers le Maryland (Etats-Unis).
Selon Arkady Tishkov, directeur du département géographique de l’Académie russe des sciences, et selon le commandant Oleg Smirnov, directeur de la Fondation de l’aviation civile russe, les mesures prises dans la zone OTAN sont inappropriées et sur-dimensionnées. Le président Medvedev, qui n’accorde aucun sérieux aux mises en garde du Met Office, a été le seul chef d’Etat à se rendre par avion aux obsèques du président polonais, le 18 avril.

A partir du samedi 17, plusieurs compagnies d’aviation ouest-européennes ont bénéficié de dérogations pour conduire leurs propres tests et ont conclu à l’absence de danger (Lufthansa, Air Berlin, KLM, Air France…). Elles ont dénoncé une mesure précipitée de fermeture de l’espace aérien civil.
Ainsi, Joachim Hunold, pdg d’Air Berlin a déclaré au Bild am Sonntag : « Pas une seule sonde météo n’a été lancée en Allemagne pour mesurer si et dans quelles proportions il y a des cendres volcaniques dans l’air. La fermeture de l’espace aérien est entièrement basée sur les résultats de simulations par ordinateur du Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre (VAAC) ».
Ce que confirment les experts indépendants. Guido Visconti, directeur du Centre des phénomènes extrêmes à l’Université de l’Aquila a indiqué au Corriere della Sera : « Les valeurs mesurées en France, Allemagne, Pays-Bas, Suisse et Roumanie sont égales ou inférieures a celles des standards acceptés pour la pollution urbaine, même en ce qui concerne le dioxide de soufre ».
Les mesures prises après l’explosion du petit volcan islandais sont sans précédent dans l’histoire de l’aviation civile. Plus de 300 aéroports ont été fermés, plus de 60 000 vols ont été annulés au détriment de plus de 6 millions de passagers. Un nouvel élément est apparu dans l’affaire de l’assassinat de l’ancien Premier ministre libanais Rafic Hariri. Ou plutôt dans l’affaire de la fausse piste syrienne.
Nos lecteurs se souviennent que les Etats-Unis et Israël entendaient démontrer que l’attentat avait été commandité par la Syrie. Une Commission d’enquête de l’ONU, présidée par le magistrat allemand Detlev Mehlis, avait cru dénouer le mystère en s’appuyant sur un témoignage inespéré, celui d’un ancien haut responsable des services secrets syriens, Mohamed Zuhair As-Siddik.
Ce « témoin clé » accusait les présidents syrien et libanais d’avoir commandité le meurtre et sept généraux syriens et quatre libanais de l’avoir organisé.
Après s’être réfugié dans la propriété espagnole de Rifaat el-Assad (l’oncle pro-US du président syrien), M. As-Siddik fut pris en charge par la DGSE française à la demande de la Commission onusienne. Cependant, les policiers français chargés de sa sécurité interceptèrent une de ses communications téléphoniques et découvrirent qu’il mentait. Le « témoin clé » n’avait jamais été haut responsable des services syriens et son témoignage avait été inventé par… Rifaat el-Assad pour renverser son neveu.
Bientôt la presse libanaise mettait en évidence que M. As-Siddik avait été rémunéré pour porter ses accusations par Saad Hariri (le fils de la victime, devenu depuis Premier ministre) et par Walid Jumblatt (vice-président de l’Internationale socialiste). Pour leur défense, MM. Hariri et Joumblatt assurent ne pas avoir payé de faux témoignage, mais avoir encouragé M. As.Siddk à témoigner en croyant qu’il était sincère.
La Justice libanaise émettait alors un mandat d’arrêt international pour faux témoignage. Dans un premier temps, Mohamed Zuhair As-Siddik était arrêté à Paris et incarcéré. Cependant, la Justice française refusant de l’extrader, il fut libéré. Il s’installa avec sa famille en région parisienne, étant entendu que la France devait à la fois le protéger et le tenir à la disposition du Tribunal spécial de l’ONU pour le Liban. Cependant, il se volatilisa avec sa famille, le 13 mars 2008, sans que le gouvernement français fournisse la moindre explication.
Le faux témoin ressurgit aux Emirats arabes unis où il fut arrêté en possession d’un faux passeport tchèque. Il était alors condamné à 6 mois de prison pour violation des règles de l’immigration et usage de faux document de voyage. Ayant purgé cette peine, il vient d’être libéré.
Se confiant à la presse, il a indiqué avoir reçu son faux passeport tchèque du cabinet de Nicolas Sarkozy, afin de se soustraire à la Justice libanaise.

La France coopérerait aux assassinats politiques perpétrés par le Mossad
Selon une enquête du journal tunisien Dounia El Watan, cité par Al-Manar, l’assassinat du dirigeant du Hamas Mahmoud Mabhouh à Dubaï, le 20 janvier 2010, aurait nécessité une équipe bien plus importante que celle déjà mise en cause par les Emirats arabes unis.
Aux tueurs, il faudrait ajouter une équipe de repérage des lieux dirigée par un ancien responsable sécuritaire de la Tunisie, Ahmad Bannour.
M. Bannour vivrait actuellement en exil en France et aurait constitué une cellule de renseignement pour le compte joint des services israélien et français.
Ahmed Bannour a fuit la Tunisie après la découverte de ses activités d’espionnage au profit du Mossad israélien. Profitant de ses responsabilités au sein de l’Etat, il avait organisé le bombardement du siège du Fatah à Tunis, le 1er octobre 1985 —auquel Yasser Arafat (dit Abou Ammar) échappa—, puis l’assassinat d’un autre leader palestinien, Khalil Al-Wazir (dit Abou Jihad), le 16 avril 1988.
Sous couvert d’une société française qu’il contrôlerait, Ahmed Bannour aurait envoyé deux « hommes d’affaire » français et une équipe de techniciens négocier à Dubaï un contrat d’installation d’ascenseurs. A cette occasion, les agents français se seraient procuré les plans de l’hôtel où Mahmoud Mabhouh devait descendre ainsi que ceux du système de sécurité de l’hôtel.
La société française de M. Bannour est par ailleurs citée dans une affaire d’espionnage actuellement pendante devant la Cour militaire du Liban. Elle a servi de couverture pour l’immigration à Beyrouth de ressortissants tunisiens et égyptiens travaillant pour le Mossad. Ceux-ci projetaient un attentat contre la radio de cheikh Hussein Fadlallah et l’assassinat du secrétaire général du Hezbollah, Sayed Hassan Nasrallah.

Pesce sopravvive a caduta dal cielo, atterrando davanti a un sushi bar
Riporta la Nbc che un lavoratore del sushi bar Chamaleon di Brevard County, Florida, si è visto piovere dal cielo un grosso pesce sul parabrezza della sua auto fuori dal ristorante di pesce. L’ha subito portato in cucina dove mettendolo in acqua ha constatato con i suoi colleghi che era ancora vivo, probabilmente perso dalle zampe di un uccello. Superata la tentazione di servirlo ai clienti, l’hanno adottato come loro pesce portafortuna.
